ZIMBABWE’S Munyaradzi Chidzonga once again dodged the eviction bullet in the Big Brother Africa All Stars on Sunday as Ethiopia’s Yacob was got the boot.
Munya had been nominated along with Yacob and Namibia’s Meryl.
And in a stunning disclosure, the show’s makers have revealed that the Zimbabwean – whose survival on Sunday was his third in a row -- commanded the largest support in TWELVE countries ... including Ethiopia and Namibia.
Munya commanded the majority of votes in Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, his home country and the rest of Africa while Meryl was most popular in Angola, Kenya and Nigeria. Yacob had no concentrated support in any country.
The 24-year-old Zimbabwean’s latest escape could prove to be short-lived as he appeared poised to be nominated again on Monday.
Big Brother called evicted ex-housemates – now resident in a secret barn adjacent to the Big Brother House – and asked them to each make nominations for this weed. Munya topped.
New evictee Yacob was the first barnmate asked into the Diary Room. He wasted no time nominating Munya, averring that the Zimbabwean’s decision to nominate him last week was “a bad excuse”. Since the show started, Munya has been nominating housemates from countries farthest from Zimbabwe. Yacob’s second nomination was the Malawian, Code, whose crime appears to be that he nominated the Ethiopian last week by saying he didn’t trust him.
“I trusted Code,” Yacob justifies himself.
South Africa’s Lerato, evicted last week, also nominated Munya because he "annoys" her.
“Let's see him dodge the bullet again,” she said.
Uganda’s Hannington also picked the Zimbabwean because he was “acting like a fool on Saturday night”.
“I don't know if it was the alcohol but he upset Jen and Jen is my girl."
Surprisingly, after just saying that Jen was his girl, Hannington's next nomination was the Mozambican because she is head of house this week and can save herself by nominating another housemate in her place.
Angola’s Tatiana, the third of Munya’s eviction night victims, nominated Nigeria’s Uti and Tanzania’s Mwisho because they were both “playing good”.
The nine remaining housemates were set to make their nominations later Monday. If Munya sticks to his nomination policy this week, Kenya’s Sheila and Nigeria’s Uti will be his two nominees.
