ZIMBABWEAN  gospel singer Sabastian Magacha concludes his UK tour on Saturday with a family gig in Southend-on-Sea.

The ‘Ridza Bosvo’ star is in the second week of his tour which saw him perform in London and Leicester.

The former CAPS United juniors star – who started off as a backing vocalist to various gospel artists including Fungisai Zvakavapano – has four albums to his name after first recording solo in 2004.

Magacha, who says he is “not just a singer but also a Christian”, said he had been pleasantly surprised by the reception from his UK fans.

“Honestly speaking, I didn’t know I have a huge following here. When I came here I had the attitude that of course this is London, it’s a new place, I won’t get a lot of people. I was humbled to discover my music preceded me.”

Magacha has become one of Zimbabwe’s main gospel artists with his energetic live performances and up-tempo sound.

He told ZimOnline Radio: “Sometimes people wonder ‘is this guy on drugs?’ I believe we are young people and we have extra energy. While we still have this energy, why don’t we use it in praise of God?”

Magacha was full of praise for fellow gospel stars who supported him on tour including Obert Mazivisa and Jane Doka.
