URBAN grooves stars Rockford "Roki" Josphats and Enock "ExQ" Munhenga were due to kick off their maiden UK tour on Friday night.
The two singers arrived in the UK on Wednesday and immediately launched into hectic rehearsals with session musicians who are substituting for Roki’s band members who did not travel.
A spokesman for Madboiz Entertainment, organisers of the tour, said: “The absence of Roki’s band shouldn’t matter because we have engaged a band called Gentleman’s Club who will play with him.
“So fans should expect Roki performing with a full band as advertised.”
On Friday night, the two singers perform at the Starlite in Leicester, moving to SOL House in Manchester on Saturday and finally the Rollers Club in Chingford on Sunday.
The duo recorded numerous songs together including hits such as Ndichakutevera, Rudo Rwemari and Reply Me One Day which they are expected to collaborate on during the tour.
Mazirudo singer ExQ said: “I’m happy to be performing to our Zimbabwean brothers and sisters in the UK. We are bringing a bit of home and we are really excited at this opportunity.”
