KNOWLEDGE Musona and Edward Sadomba joined training with the national team on Monday as they began final preparations for Sunday’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Angola on Sunday.

Zimbabwe lead 3-1 from the first leg and need to avoid defeat to reach the finals in South Africa next year.

Al-Hilal striker Sadomba, cleared of match fixing last week, joined camp together with Kaizer Chiefs’ Kingston Nkatha, another of the players given the all-clear.

Goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro, without a club, and Chiefs defender Lincoln Zvasiya are also in the 30-man squad to be trimmed later in the week.

Musona, who missed the first leg through injury, arrived in Harare on Sunday after playing in German club Augsburg’s 3-1 win over Werder Bremen.

Also joining camp was Bidvest Wits veteran Tinashe Nengomasha and stand-in captain Esrom Nyandoro, who deputises in the absence of goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini.

Plymouth defender Onismor Bhasera, Omonia Nicosia defender Noel Kaseke and Germinal Beerschot midfielder Vusa Nyoni were expectedon Monday night.

On Monday, the players underwent a conditioning exercise in a swimming pool at their lodgings under the watchful eye of physical trainer Gerald Maguranyanga.

With a squad of 30 players in camp, coach Rahman Gumbo has to drop 12 players for the Friday trip with most of the local players set to miss out.

In Luanda, Angola started their preparations on Sunday with a squad of their locally-based players playing a practice match against Girabola club Recreativo de Luanda.

Brazil-based Geraldo also came on Sunday while star player, Manucho, who plays for Valladolid in Spain, is expected Tuesday.

Warriors stars have been promised a US$10,000 windfall each if they reach the finals.
