FORMER Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Leonard Tsumba has been appointed the chairman of listed dairy processor, Dairiboard Holdings, the company has confirmed.
Tsumba takes over from Timothy Chiganze who retired from the board on June 28 after serving the company for 14 years, seven of which as the chairperson.
“In line with the process of succession underpinned in Dairiboard Holdings Corporate Governance manual, Timothy Chiganze retires from the board on June 28 2012 having served his full term of office,” said Dairiboard.
Tsumba is a renowned banker and respected businessman. He served as Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe from 1993 to 2003.
He brings to Dairiboard extensive experience gained in the financial services sector, both internationally and in Zimbabwe.
Tsumba is currently Chairman of banking group, CABS as well as a board member of several listed and non-listed companies.
A fellow of the Institute of Directors, United Kingdom Tsumba holds a Ph.D in Economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
