Melody Majoni, 18, took a kitchen knife and attempted to slice off her hubby’s manhood after being frustrated by his lack of sex appetite, a Gweru court heard.

Majoni was handed a 36-month jail term by Gweru magistrate Douglas Chikwekwe, but the sentence was commuted to 805 hours of community service.

The court heard the victim, Leonard Makusha, arrived home in Gweru’s Mtapa Section 6 from work at about 5AM on June 4 and joined his wife in bed.

“Melody immediately started caressing him while kissing his private parts. Makusha, who was apparently tired as a result of his night duty, went on to sleep while the wife continued to caress and kiss his organ,” prosecutor Caroline Mugabe told the court.

“Melody later went on top of her husband and attempted to make love to him in that position. This was unsuccessful as Makusha was fast asleep at that time and she totally lost it.”

The court heard Melody went to the kitchen and armed herself with a knife. She tried to chop off her man’s willy, but only succeeded in leaving a deep cut.

The prosecutor said Makusha’s screams woke up neighbours who arrived to find Melody packing up her clothes, apparently preparing to leave the house.

The court was left in stitches during cross-examination when Makusha told the court he had told his wife previously that he did not enjoy oral sex, and was not too keen on her other favoured sex positions.
