FORMER Zanu PF activist Acie Lumumba was arrested again Friday and charged with forging the registration book for his mother’s vehicle, a Toyota Ipsum.

Mumumba, real name William Mutumanje, was recently released from custody on $400 bail after he allegedly insulted President Robert Mugabe using the F-word.

Following his resignation from Zanu PF, Lumumba has since launched the Viva Zimbabwe opposition party.

He confirmed his arrest in a Facebook post.

“MY FELLOW ZIMBABWEANS; I know u are all going about your day-to-day business but for all those genuine friends here on FB this is to notify u that I have been arrested again on several allegations.

“May the Lord lead, keep fighting for your country everyone...Viva Team will keep you posted. I have been detained at Southerton Police till Monday they say.”

Lumumba’s lawyer, Arshiel Mugiya, later explained the charges to State media.

“Indeed, he has been arrested and as we speak he has been placed under arrest at the Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS).

“Details are still sketchy and I am yet to ascertain the charges he is facing,” said the attorney.

He added that a man from a local car sale could have forged the vehicle’s registration book.

The claimed forgery was exposed after the owner of the vehicle was arrested by police who checked the car’s documents discovered that they were fake.
