CHIPINGE: A local man ran amok and burnt down his landlord’s house after he was evicted for not paying rentals for a tuckshop.

Police confirmed the incident saying they have since launched a manhunt for the suspect who was identified as Sam Mwadzura, 23.

The incident reportedly took place last week in Gaza `O` high density suburb.

It is reported that Mwadzura was renting a tuckshop belonging to one Brenda Mhlanga.

Mwadzura is said to have failed to pay rentals and Mhlanga tried to evict him.

After resisting removal for some days, an angry Mwadzura then went to Mhlanga`s house at night. He set the house on fire and vanished.

Chipinge district police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Blessing Kadzuraumera urged members of the public to solve their differences amicably rather taking law into their own hands.
