A MAN killed in a horrific British motorway crash last Wednesday has been named as 36-year-old Zimbabwean national, Walter Goto.
Last night, his wife Matshediso Ratau Goto described the former ZBC cameraman who came to England over ten years ago as a “soulmate” and “loving husband”.
Police say Goto, of Lords Close in Shenley, near St Albans, died just before 3AM when his silver Mercedes C230 collided with the bank of the M25 motorway, which forms a ring around London, causing the car to flip.
Goto, who was studying for a technical arts and media degree at Middlesex University in the hope of one day pursuing his dream of owning a production company, was confirmed dead at the scene of the crash, between the Watford and St Albans junctions.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
His widow led the tributes. Writing to a local paper, she said: “Walter my love, you have left me lost and confused. My life is now absolutely empty without you. I am struggling to come to terms with the accident.”
She said she “felt lost, confused and out of my mind”, adding: “I have lost my best friend, soulmate, prince charming and loving husband. I love you now and forever. May your soul rest in peace in Jesus’ name.”
His sister, Ruth Goto, 42, said the father-of-four was “a man of many talents”.
Sheadded : “He was always smiling, he loved dressing very slick, and everything had to be the best. Everyone is missing him.
“He was known as an advisor in the family. He always gave advice to the young, and was a good role model to his nephews. To a lot of people who knew him, he was a man of many talents.
“He would put you first before his own needs.”
Goto's parents will fly over from Zimbabwe for the funeral once police investigations are completed, the family said.
