ALMOST bursting at the seams, literally, meet the woman who has reportedly been promised marriage by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
Aquilina Kayidza Pamberi, 37, squeezed her hefty assets into a purple frock for her court appearance last Friday, leaving little to the imagination.
Pamberi, who runs a boutique stocked with designer collections in Bulawayo, was in court to seek a restraining order against her husband of 12 years, Jacob Mandeya, alleging physical abuse.
Sources close to the couple have told newspapers that Aquilani was fashioning a divorce to clear the way for her marriage to widower, Tsvangirai, soon “after the elections” expected later this year.
Tsvangirai, whose wife Susan died in a car crash in March 2009, has not addressed specific claims about Aquilina, but a spokesman said reports of a romantic affair were “yellow journalism”.
Aquilina -- who wants one of the two mansions she and her husband shared in Matsheumhlophe and Fortune’s Gate suburbs in a divorce settlement – also moved to deny the claims on Tuesday.
Tsvangirai has recently been linked with several women, and advisers have privately told him to get a handle on his personal life.
