A TEENAGE boy has been charged with buggery of a donkey after allegedly being caught in the act, a court heard.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named, appeared before Lupane magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba on Tuesday charged over the March 9 incident.

Prosecuting, Tawanda Sigauke told the court that the teenager, from Sibomvu Village in Jotsholo, was caught red-handed having sex with a donkey by its owner Stanley Mkhwananzi.

Mkhwananzi, of the neighbouring Bangale Village, owns three donkeys. The court heard he had gone to the grazing lands and found two male donkeys with the third, a female, missing.

“Mkhwananzi continued with the search and at a river nearby he saw the accused mounting the donkey and performing a sex act on it,” Sigauke told the court.

“When Mkhwananzi shouted at the accused to stop, he jumped off the donkey and fled from the scene.”

But Mkhwananzi had already identified him and he reported the matter to the village head who in turn called in the police, the court heard.

The teenager denies the charges. He was remanded in the custody of his parents to September 1 for trial.
