POLICE have confirmed that two men were allegedly sexually abused over the Christmas and New Year holidays amid fears the country’s notorious female rapists are on the prowl again.
Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Leonard Chabata said a 25-year-old man was allegedly attacked on Christmas Day.
“What happened is that the man was offered transport at Madzivire bus stop in Chisumbanje along Ngundu-Tanganda road by two unknown female adults at around 8pm. The ladies were travelling to Chiredzi where the man was going,” Chabata said.
The man reportedly jumped into the vehicle, sitting in the back seat with one of the suspects while the other woman drove.
“When they reached Ndali area in Chiredzi, the medium-built woman seated in the back started caressing him. The victim showed resistance prompting the driver to stop the vehicle. The driver produced a knife and ordered the passenger to have sex with the other woman,” Chabata said.
“Fearing for his life the man complied and had unprotected sex once with the suspected female rapist.
“After their sexual encounter, the driver of the vehicle exchanged seats with the other woman who took the knife and also ordered the man to have sex with her. The man complied again and had unprotected sex with the woman at knifepoint in the back of the vehicle.”
After the alleged abuse, the man was ordered out of the vehicle which immediately sped-off, leaving him stranded by the roadside in the dead of night. The incident was reported at Middle Sabi Police Station.
And in another incident, a 27-year-old Ruwa man is said to have been raped in Marondera on December 23.
Mashonaland East provincial police spokesman Inspector Bulisani Bhebhe said the victim was on his way to Sanzara Farm when he was offered a lift by two ladies along the Harare-Mutare road.
"The man was picked up by a dark blue Toyota Ipsum with no registration numbers that had two women, one on the passenger seat and the other one on the wheel," Bhebhe said.
"The man occupied the back seat and after driving for a while, the woman on the passenger seat produced a pistol and threatened him with death.
“When they approached Sanzara Road at the 87 km peg along the Harare-Mutare Highway, the driver left the main road and drove for some metres before stopping.
“The woman with the pistol produced a condom and ordered the victim to be intimate with the driver in the back seat of the car. After the sexual encounter, the women took the used condom and ordered the man out of the car before speeding towards Harare.”
Bhebhe said the man reported the attack at Marondera Rural Police Station adding investigations are continuing.
Reports of similar attacks had apparently stopped following the arrest of three suspects in Gweru who are now awaiting trial on 17 counts of aggravated indecent assault.
Sisters Sophie and Netsai Nhokwara, Rosemary Chakwizira and a male accomplice are currently out on US$300 bail each. They all deny the charges.
