A TRADITIONAL healer has been jailed for 20 years for sodomising three male clients while pretending to be “cleansing” them of bad luck.
Ngoni Mvukwe, 31, who is originally from Buhera denied three counts of aggravated indecent assault, claiming the men consented to the sex but was convicted by Bulawayo regional magistrate, Godwin Sengweni.
The court heard that between October 21 and 23 2011, Mvukwe would lure his victims – who all also lived in Magwe, Matebeleland South -- to his residence after telling them that they had bad luck and that he could treat them of the problem.
Prosecutor Sifiso Ndlovu said once the victims agreed to get into the house Mvukwe claimed he could only treat them if they agreed to have sex with him.
He would then make them undress before smearing some substance over their bodies.
The healer then ordered the men to lie on his bed and proceeded to sexually assault them.
Mvukwe will serve an effective 20-year sentence after the magistrate dismissed his claims that he had done nothing wrong since the clients consented to the sex.
