A PROSTITUTE has been jailed for a day and hit with a restraining order after harrying the wife of a former client who failed to pay for sex.
Shumirai Marima, 32, tormented Sithembile Sibanda after storming her home and shoving her husband’s underwear – which the hooker had retained as a bargaining chip – in her face.
The tart yelled: “Does this look familiar?”
Not only did Sibanda have to deal with being told that her husband had cheated on her but the prostitute – who lives in the same Pumula North neighbourhood in Bulawayo – wanted her to stump up US$20.
Shouting at the top of her voice, the West Commonage Magistrates’ Court heard this week, Marima threatened to bring shame on Sibanda’s family as shocked neighbours gathered to witness the spectacle.
Sibanda’s cheating husband, Melusi, was away from home at the time. She turned to the courts for protection from the harlot.
After listening to Sibanda’s account of verbal abuse and torment at the hands of Marima, magistrate Themba Chimiso said he was “appalled” by the hooker’s “unorthodox means of recovering her money”.
After slapping her with a restraining order, the magistrate ordered Marima detained for a day in remand prison, telling her: “I think sending you to prison for a day will make you a better person.”
