ZANU PF adherent and suspended City of Harare waste management manager, Leslie Gwindi, is slowly dying of Aids, his wife told a civil court Tuesday.

During proceedings in a maintenance case, Gwindi's wife, Tendai, surprised people packed in the court room when she said she wanted Gwindi to increase the money he was providing for mantainance to cater for the diet of their child, who is also sick.

"Due to AIDS, the child needs a special diet and Gwindi knows of the disease affecting our child. He too is dying slowly," Tendai said.

She added that she had passed on the deadly disease to their child after contracting it from Gwindi, whom she said was a womaniser.

"That is why our marriage could not work," she added.

A former Dynamos Football Club secretary general and one time Premier Soccer League chairman, Gwindi is a blue eyed boy of Local Government Minister Ignatius Chombo.

Gwindi has repeatedly had his way at council due to protection he is given by Zanu PF, and Chombo who has reinstated him during previous suspensions.
