Black, Huber win Rogers Cup doubles final By Sports
Reporter The pair defeated the unseeded team of Maria Kirilenko and Flavia Pennetta in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Black and Huber, the number one ranked women’s doubles partnership, were the top seeds in the US$1,34 million hard-court tournament. The tournament was the final preparation for Black who will represent Zimbabwe in the Beijing Olympic Games which get underway on August 8. Black received a wildcard entry in the women’s singles. She has represented the country in the last two Olympic Games in Sydney and Athens – on both occasions failing to go past the second round. Her 6-2, 6-2 defeat
to Russia's Anastasia Rodionova in the first round of the Rogers Cup
in the singles will not have helped her confidence going into the Olympics.
