NEWLY-PROMOTED South African Premier Soccer League club Free State Stars have signed Zimbabwean striker Kingstone Nkatha.

The CAPS FC striker and Soccer Star of the Year finalist will join fellow Zimbabwean James Matola who has settled well at the club coached by Kina Phiri.

A CAPS FC official said Nkatha had agreed terms and would move to South Africa in February in time for the start of the second half of the South African soccer season.

Rantsi Mokoena, Free State Stars' brand manager, told Supersport TV that the player had impressed during trials.

He said: "The technical team were satisfied in what they saw in the player. They mandated us to sign the player and we are busy finalising all the necessary paperwork."

Nkatha burst into the spotlight in top flight football after joining now defunct former premiership club, Buymore, in 2005.
