| Orlando Pirates chase Highlanders goalie By
Torby Chimhashu The Buccaneers’
interest follows a snub by fellow South African team, Bloemfontein
Celtic, who have refused to sell their goalkeeper, Postnet Omony. “We have
heard rumours that Pirates are interested in Arubi,” said Ndlovu,
who is also reported to be courted by an un-named club in South Africa,
“but as far as I know, nobody from Pirates has made a formal
or informal approach for the goalkeeper.” Orlando Pirates, who have been impressive under the tutelage of Oscar Da Gama who replaced Congolese coach Bibby Mutombo, have been in top form after Da Gama rung the changes. Da Gama has put six players on the transfer list although he is keeping their names a closely guarded secret. The interest in
Arubi signals the new coach’s lack of confidence in the Bucs’
first choice goalkeeper Francis Chansa. |
