HIGHLANDERS were on Tuesday expected to confirm Methembe Ndlovu as head coach for the 2008 league season, and announce the appointment of club legend Willard Khumalo to their technical department.

Ndlovu won the league title in his maiden season with Highlanders in 2006, and finished second to Dynamos last year.

Ndlovu gathered his team last week to prepare for a first round Confederations Cup match against Ferroviario de Nampula of Mozambique.

“The Press Conference will take place at the Sports Club on Tuesday at 11.30hrs and will be addressed by the club chairman Ernest Sibanda. On the agenda is the
2008 Confederations Cup, the league campaign, the players and the technical team announcements,” read a release from Highlanders on Monday.

Highlanders have been on the market, signing three players so far. Jacob Muzokomba has joined from Lancashire Steel, Herbert Dick has arrived from Polish club, Legia, and the country’s most prolific striker in the 2007 league season with 16 goals, Cuthbert Malajila, switched from Chapungu.

The former champions have retained the services of on-loan goalkeeper Washington Arubi, whom they now want on a permanent basis, despite reported interest from South African giants Orlando Pirates.

Highlanders lost Thabani Moyo, Sautso Phiri, Mkhuphali Masuku, Admire Dzukamanja (who has joined champions Dynamos) and Farai
Mujokoro (who has moved to Botswana Meat Commission). Masuku had a one-year contract, which expired in December but has not been renewed despite him being registered for the Confederations Cup.

The bulk of the Bosso players -- skipper Gilbert Banda, Anzilom Ndlovu, Wellington Sibanda, Obadiah Tarumbwa, Eric Mudzingwa, Marshall Machazane, Wonder Peperere, Leon Masuku, Givemore Manuella and Nqobile Mpala have been retained.
