CHAMPIONS Dynamos breathed a sigh of relief on Monday after their most coveted players, skipper Justin Majabvi, Soocer Star of the Year Murape Murape and Edward Sadomba pitched up for training after a stand-off over new contracts.

The players boycotted training last week as Dynamos gathered again after the off-season to prepare for the African Champions League.

Majabvi, who is now likely to be stripped of the captaincy in favour of Murape, had a contract which expired on December 31, 2007, and did not attend training last week as the Harare side sought funds from their major sponsors, Savannah, to fund a new deal.

Murape still has a running contract with Dynamos, but the stand-off was largely due to an improved deal that he sought, while Sadomba to renegotiate his terms. Dynamos were reported at the weekend to have received $1 trillion from Savannah.

Team manager Nyika Chifamba said the three players joined training on Monday morning at Raylton Sports Club.

“The paperwork will be concluded this week between the players, the vice chairman Simon Sachiti and secretary Cremio Mapfumo, but for now all the players are here for the morning session,” he said by telephone Monday.

Dynamos’ are set to seal a deal for former Njube Sundowns and Highlanders defender Danisa Phiri, who has agreed a switch and will be registered with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), at the expense of a US$500 fine for late registration.

The league and CBZ Cup winners have also swooped on the Lancashire Steel duo of skipper Brighton Tuwaya and Farai Vimisayi, although they lost out on Jacob Muzokomba, who preferred to sign a one year deal with Bulawayo side, Highlanders.

Dynamos have put Dick Moyana and Bheki Ncube on the transfer list as they trim their squad.

Their first match is on February 3 when they engage Highlanders in the first leg of the Nestle Zimbabwe Charity Shield season opener at Barbourfields, before the return leg in Harare a week later.

On February 17, they travel to Swaziland to face Royal Leopards in the first leg of the Champions League first round in Mbabane before the return leg in Harare two weeks later.
