| Dynamos survive Mozambique scare By
Nkanyiso Moyo IN THE land of sugar cane, Dynamos stepped on a banana skin and nearly crashed out of the Champions League on Sunday. Mozambique may be famous for its sugar cane plantations, but Costa do Sol were intent on writing a fairytale on a football field in this second leg first round clash with the Zimbabwean champions. Dynamos, looking unassailable after Edward Sadomba’s hat-trick from the first leg two weeks ago, somehow found themselves 2-0 at the break and facing the real prospect of being knocked out of the competition from the most promising of positions. But they held on to the end, Costa do Sol unable to find the third goal which would have taken the game into extra time. Repeat this sort of performance against African champions Etoile Sportive du Sahel, their next opponents, Dynamos will surely be made to pay. Dynamos have no time to reflect and will need to be at their best when they resume their domestic title defence against Lancashire Steel at Gwanzura on Thursday. Against Etoile, Dynamos play the first leg at home and need to win at whatever cost and stop the Tunisians from scoring an away goal. Etoile prevailed 5-3 over AS Douanes of Senegal, winning 5-0 at home in Tunisia before losing 3-0 in the reverse fixture in West Africa on Saturday. Dynamos
