DYNAMOS hit the ground running as they returned to domestic competition in defence of their premiership title on Thursday.

Pacy winger Edward Sadomba’s double against a subdued Lancashire Steel at Gwanzura Stadium lifted him to six goals in four games after a memorable hat-trick against Costa do Sol of Mozambique in the African Champions League two weeks ago.

Sadomba was showered with wads of bearer cheques amounting to billions of dollars by ecstatic fans after the match, his second big pay day after a similar gesture in the Costa do Sol match.

The former Maritzburg of South Africa winger scored on the stroke of half time and in the 86th minute to condemn Kwekwe-based Lancashire to their second defeat of the season.

Dynamos, who drew 1-1 against CAPS United in the season opener thanks to a late Sadomba equaliser, join Highlanders, CAPS FC, Chapungu and Lengthens who are all on four points. Kiglon and Gunners lead the table with 6 points each after winning starts.

Sadomba’s first was a gift as Lancashire Steel defenders made hard work of a clearance. Sadomba arrived on the scene unnoticed to stab the ball into the nets.

The Warriors fringe player killed the game as a contest with four minutes remaining, connecting Admire Dzukamanja’s pass to send Gwanzura into delirium.

The CBZ champions’ next engagement is a league match away to Eastern Lions at Sakubva Stadium on Sunday.
