CHAPUNGU maintained leadership of the CBZ Premiership despite being denied maximum points by Siza Khoza who rose from the bench to steal a draw for Kiglon at Ascot Stadium on Sunday.

Khoza was a second half substitute for Phillip Sithole and was just 10 minutes old on the field before finding the crucial equaliser that kept the former leaders three points behind.

Khoza curled a right foot shot past Warriors goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda.

Chapungu had taken a seventh minute lead through Terererayi Zinyowera.

Chapungu lead the premiership with 18 points from eight matches and remain unbeaten, together with Highlanders and defending champions Dynamos who each have three games in hand. Kiglon are on 15 points.

Chapungu dropped veteran Maxwell Dube after he reported late for camp.

In other matches, Underhill stunned CAPS FC 2-0 in Harare as Tendai Mukumbi and Kudakwashe Mushure struck either side of half-time.

Lancashire Steel subdued struggling Shooting Stars 1-0 with a Simon Chipunza strike.

Eastern Lions and Gunners drew 0-0.

On Tuesday, Lengthens who fired coach Moses Chunga last week beat Motor Action 1-0.
