2008 Premier Soccer League Fixtures

Posted to the web: 05/01/2009 18:09:45
THE Premier Soccer League play-offs are now likely to be decided Wednesday after the mini-league leaders Lancashire Steel and Eagles posted massive victories over the weekend.

Lancashire thrashed Shabanie Mine 4-1 at Baghdad Stadium to set up an enticing fixture on Wednesday when they visit Rudhaka for a date with Eagles.

Goals from Tineyi Chitora, Tafadzwa Mombeshora, Phillip Makanje and regular scorer Tongai Mangwendere ensured maximum points for the Kwekwe side.

Eagles thumped Mwana Africa 3-1 at Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera. Clive Kawinga hit a memorable hatrick with Mwana Africa's Webster Chingoza grabbing the consolation goal. The match was delayed for an hour after a clash of colours.

The team that tops the mini-league after the final round of games earns the right to play in the premiership next season. Lancashire were sucked into the play-offs after finishing just outside the relegation zone and now have to prove their pedigree against their lower division opponents.

Results:

Eagles 3-1 Mwana Africa; Lancashire Steel 4-1 Shabanie Mine
