DYNAMOS have been fined US$1,000 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over crowd trouble in their African Champions League clash with Zamalek on September 21 last year.

Dynamos supporters hurled objects on the Rufaro pitch when the two teams were level 0-0 before David Shoko scored a stoppage time winner over the Egyptian club, sending them into the semi-finals.

CAF said the behaviour of the Dynamos fans endangered the safety of the match officials and the players.

In a letter to ZIFA, released to the media on Wednesday, CAF General Secretary Mustafa Fahmy said the fine was imposed by a committee of the continent’s football governing body for inter club competitions at its meeting on December 17.

The decision was taken after studying the match report by Algerian referee, Benouza Mohammed. It was again reviewed by the CAF disciplinary committee at its meeting of January 4 this month.

Dynamos fell in the semi-finals to losing finalists Coton Sport of Cameroon. Al Ahly of Egypt won the competition.

Dynamos are still waiting to receive their US$427 500 bounty from CAF for reaching the semi-finals.
