PAKISTAN captain Shoaib Malik took three wickets as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 244 runs in the fourth one-day international at Iqbal stadium on Wednesday.

However, Malik's figures (3-55) were dented when left-hander Keith Dabengwa hit him for two sixes to score 19 in the final over before being run out for 45.

Dabengwa's blitz allowed Zimbabwe to finish with a fighting total on another good batting pitch.

Enjoying an unassailable 3-0 lead, Pakistan have tried out five new players in the five-match series. It was one of these, left arm pacer Kamran Hussain, who started the Zimbabwe slide by taking two quick wickets.

Hussain trapped openers Vusi Sibanda (3) and stand-in captain Hamilton Masakadza (2) leg before in successive overs at the total of 12.

The only real resistance for the visitors came from a third-wicket stand of 85 from 100 balls between the Sean Williams (48) and Tatenda Taibu, who made 51, his ninth half century.

Williams played fluently to hit four boundaries and a six in his 56-ball knock which was ended when Malik caught him off his own bowling.

Brendan Taylor (7) was trapped leg before by Malik who also caught and bowled Taibu to leave Zimbabwe struggling on 132 for five after 30 overs.

Chamu Chibhabha (30) was bowled by Shahid Afridi, Elton Chigumbura (24) was stumped and Gary Brent was run out for 14.

Pakistan rested senior players, Younis Khan, Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt. - Reuters
