Zim company opens property search agency

A NEW Zimbabwean property search and corporate relocation services agency has entered the market, targetting property investors based abroad.

Venna Property Finders has set up office in Harare and also has an international office in London. The company says it entered the market after "recognising a gap in the Zimbabwe property market".

"Unlike traditional estate agents, Venna deals exclusively with home search and corporate relocation services which are increasingly in demand as people want to take the hassle out of home buying," says the company's UK-based international consultant Sharon Dziruni.

"Ex-pats look to return to the country, and international businesses seek to establish African bases. Estate agents have traditionally acted as sole brokers through which property is bought and sold in Zimbabwe. Venna, however, is able to offer the highest quality of service to its corporate and private clients, because it only has the interests of the buyer at heart," she said.

According to Dziruni, their research suggests that most people find moving house the second most unpleasant experience of their lives, after the death of a family member.

"It is hardly surprising therefore that people are increasingly looking to make buying a home less stressful," she said.

Explaining how Venna works, Dziruni told New Zimbabwe.com's Featured Business that individuals and companies approached the company looking for properties with certain specifications, and their job was to find the properties and negotiate the prices on behalf of their clients.

"We recognise that families and individuals need support, not only in terms of finding a property, but also during the negotiation process when getting the right price for the right property can be a demanding job. Corporate clients, too, are looking for support and detailed local knowledge so that they can be confident that outsourcing their relocation requirements will not lead to any confusion or inconvenience for their employees," she said.
