Goblins burn traditional healer

By Staff Reporter

A MASVINGO traditional healer was allegedly killed by four members of the same family last Tuesday after failing to deliver on his promise to cure their father.

The traditional healer, Rashai Nyanga, of Kumurai village in Zaka had told Jaravaza brothers, Nephias, Jephias, Reuben, and a relativeTitus Rashai, that he would cure their terminally ill father within five days.

However, the father died four days later while still taking the traditional healer's herbs, immediately attracting the wrath of the murder suspects.

The four are now in police custody, awaiting trial.

Police spokesman, Oliver Mandipaka confirmed the arrests.

"The suspects' father had been ill for some time and the four suspects went to Samba ranch (Zaka) where the deceased was operating from to seek treatment.

"The traditional healer promised them that he would exorcise the evil pririts that were responsible for the illness.

"He told them that he would treat their father within five days."

After the alleged murder, the four dumped his body at his homestead and fled.

It was latter discovered by neighbours.
