Harare man sues after dog bites off his manhood

By Torby Chimhashu

A HARARE
man is seeking £12 500 (Z$50 million) compensation from a Marlborough businessman whose dog bit off his manhood which doctors now say will have to be amputated.

The savage dog attack has rendered the man's sex organs useless.

Benjamin Majo of Mbare was attacked by the dog belonging to Stansilous Nyakurerwa early this year but now faces the prospect of spending the rest of his life without enjoying the natural pleasures as doctors have advised him he needs to wear a catheter.

This means that Majo will have his manhood replaced by the catheter.

A catheter helps people with urological difficulties to pass urine. It is normally used on patients who have prostate cancer. Once a cather has been placed, the patient has to carry a urine bag all the time.

In his letter of demand, Majo is seeking Nyakurerwa to pay for the loss of his manhood, amenities, nervous shock, pain and suffering.

His lawyer, Maxwell Mavhunga said the doctors have advised him that Majo needs to wear a suprapubic catheter as they will have to amputate his precious possessions.

Businessman Nyakurerwa admitted to his dog's brutal attack on the hapless Mbare man and paid a fine at Matapi Police station early in the year.

However, matters came to a head last week, when Majo, acting on the advice of lawyers following a medical check on his manhood which started giving him problems, realised that he faces the grim and painful prospect of living without his jewels for the remainder of his life.

At the time of going to press, Nyakurerwa had not, at least officially, responded to the claim.

It is not clear whether Majo is or not but one thing is clear - his jewels are likely to be taken off him, and Nyakurerwa is now facing punitive damages in the civil court.
