STUNNING Zimbabwean beauty Ropafadzai Garise is flying the flag in Jamaica at the Miss Global international beauty pageant which concludes on 11 June.

The 20-year-old Miss Zimbabwe UK 2005 finalist who also took part in last year's Miss Bikini hosted by Turkey left Britain last week, her management company said Friday.

Garise will rub shoulders with queens of the catwalk from 50 countries including Puerto Rico, the UK, Sri Lanka, India, Guyana, Nicaragua, Dominica, Belize, Barbados, The Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Switzerland, Germany, St Lucia, Canada, Turks & Caicos, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, Dominican Republic and Surinam.

Miss Global International is a sister pageant to Miss Commonwealth and is being held at Montego Bay.

A spokesman for Garise's modeling agency Solution First said Friday: "Ropa has not looked back since she had a crack at the Miss Zimbabwe UK title last year. She has really found a new drive for success and she is a great ambassador for Zimbabwe and its beautiful people."

The participants in the Miss Global International competition are being hosted by the Jamaican Tourism Board and will have extensive exposure to the famed Jamaican tourist service.

Pageant founder and organiser, Lachu Ramchandani, said the field of contestants in the historic pageant will experience the best hospitality in various locales, including Negril (Rick's Café, Sea Escape), Montego Bay (Sandals), Ocho Rios, (various properties) and Kingston in the run-up to the Coronation show on June 10 at the Pegasus hotel.

Pre-judging will take place at the Morgan's Harbour Hotel in Port Royal.
