PORTSMOUTH boss Harry Redknapp has told Zimbabwean striker Benjani Mwaruwari he is going nowhere amid speculation linking the in-form striker with Juventus.

The Zimbawean hitman has been is fine form this season and that has not gone unnoticed in Turin, with Serie A side Juve said to be big admirers of the 28-year-old.

Redknapp, though, insists contract talks are planned with Benjani, who has just 18 months to run on his current deal at Fratton Park.

"Benjani is going nowhere," the Fratton Park chief told the Daily Mail. "He is a big player for us, an important one.

"(Chief executive) Peter Storrie is going to sit down with him and start talking about another contract. He has come so far for us and it's great to see him scoring goals.

"It's good to see him getting his reward for how he's been playing. He is full of confidence at the moment and it's brilliant to see."

Meanwhile, Redknapp has played down reports he wants to sign £7million-rated Real Mallorca winger Jonas Gutierrez because he is over-valued by the Balearic outfit.
