‘BACK by popular demand’ is an overused marketing gimmick often deployed with false scientific authority to whip up public excitement about an event or activity.

But if one event deserves that billing, it is South African DJ Zinhle’s return to the UK next weekend after a mind-blowing introduction to these shores as a supporting act to DJ Sbu, Oskido and Christos in June last year.

Then, Zinhle – an Oskido protégé and YFM DJ – illuminated a packed Stratford Rex, earning cacophonous shouts of ‘encore’ from the appreciative house-mad crowd.

This time, Zinhle returns with another female DJ and house music exponent, DJ Cyndo, who dropped a hugely successful album last year, aptly titled, Finest Lady of House Volume 1.

Completing the line-up will be house convert, Zayne ‘Mahoota’ Sibika – a member of the legendary kwaito outfit, Trompies. Mahoota began a solo project under the DJ Vetkuk vs Mahoota series in 2000, and he recently dropped the 4th instalment out of which pops the monster club hit, Qolo.

The three DJs kick off the house party at Twilight Niteclub in London (E15 1DD) on Friday, March 21. A day later, on Saturday, March 22, they will be rocking the Starlite Entertainment Centre in Leicester (LE1 2AA). Tickets cost £15.
