ONE of the most enduring landmarks on the Southern African entertainment scene in London -- Twilight Nite Club -- is serving drinks for the last time on May 31 before it's demolished to make way for the 2012 Olympics construction work.

Twilight will be closed after playing host to over 1000 events in seven years, from birthday parties to hosting top Zimbabwean and South African entertainers.

Zimbabwean DJ's like Peter Johns, Ezra Tshisa Sibanda, Gibson Ncube and Otis Fraser have had a spin at the club. Other names who have performed there include Afro-po group Malaika, South African DJs Oskido, Fresh, Zinhle, Christos, Black Coffee and Mahoota.

A spokesman for the club said: "The owners of Twilight will host a farewell party on Satursday, May 31, to specially thank the Southern African community who have supported the venue over a memorable seven years."

The Twilight's final night will be filmed for a special broadcast on OBE television, the club said.
