Oskido to unleash Church Grooves 5 on UK tour
By
Showbiz Reporter Church Grooves 5 drops in the wake of the phenomenally successful Church Grooves volumes 1 – 4, which all sold double platinum, or over 100 000 units each. What makes Church Grooves 5 unique is the depth that Oskido has gone to explore the foundation of his love for house music. Oskido, the mix-master who keeps his turntables forever spinning understands the type of entertaining trip his audience is after. He has gained a loyal following worldwide as a house DJ precisely because he has a religious fervor for his music and his fans believe in his passion. Not only will Oskido be introducing his Church Grooves 5 project, he’s touring the United Kingdom unleashing the monster act, Bongo Maffin -- the group that brought us the all-time hit Thath'Isgubhu. Bongo Muffin -- comprising of Stoan, Thandiswa and Zimbabwe’s sensational JahSeed -- are to mark their long awaited return with a release their comeback album full of their trademark dancefloor fillers. An arrangement between Oskido and Swing Entertainment, run by Gibson Ncube, has seen the exclusive launch of Kalawa Jazmee productions in the UK, way before they are released. Oskido officially launched Mafikizolo’s last offering in the UK, four months before its release date. He did the same with the new Oliver Mtukudzi and Andy Brown which were sampled 3 months ago, and are to be released soon. Speaking to New Zimbabwe.com Wednesday night, the DJ Gibson Ncube told us: “I’ve been privileged to work with these guys for a very long time and for them to give us (people in the UK) the opportunity to hear some of their projects before they are released bridges the gap and gives people a chance to keep up to date, or is it ahead of the date? "I think DJ's and promoters in the UK -- from myself, Ezra Sibanda, Tulani (Slick Management), Welly Tee (CW Events), Fungwa Mawarire (ZimTownship), Gqwetha Malinga (Black Boyz) right through to Pius Nduna & Lewis Shaka (Mixmasters) -- have a hard task putting events together because we are framed into the forever demanding entertainment industry. "We continue to entertain, promote music and most of all try and bridge that gap. It is being appreciated by the public," said Ncube. This year, Ncube's Swing Entertainment has hosted Malaika, DJ's Fresh, Otis Fraser, Cleo, Oskido and Revolution. Oskido Church Grooves 5 tour kicks off on Friday 25th November at Twilight Nite Club in London then sets off to Birmingham on Saturday 26th at G2 Bar. The session then ends in Glasgow on Sunday the 27th at Club VDub. For more information
