ZIMBABWE international football skipper Peter Ndlovu has been offered a chance to continue his playing career in China after falling out of favour with his English First Division club Sheffield United.

An unnamed club from the Far East is understood to have contacted his advisors and invited them to fly out for talks, Sheffield Today reported.

But Ndlovu, who was one of three Sheffield United players to be transfer-listed last week, is expected to turn down the opportunity and concentrate on finding something slightly closer to home.

The Zimbabwe international, who is based in the Midlands, would command a fee but Neil Warnock has already indicated that he is willing to consider player-swap offers with any interested parties.
Robert Page and Andy Parkinson could also be used as bait in similar deals having also been told they can leave Bramall Lane.

Warnock confirmed: "That would be something I would consider. But it would have to be right for Sheffield United. We won't be taking anyone just for the sake of it."

"Peter has given this club excellent service and he's a terrific professional.
"But I just feel that perhaps he needs a new challenge to help him rediscover his old spark."

Another reason for Warnock's decision to wield the axe is his desire to raise funds for a summer recruitment drive, with a new centre-half, midfield schemer and striker topping his list of priorities.

Any money he banks is expected to be pumped straight back into team-building although United's board have stressed that they do not want their wage bill to increase.
