Stoke City deny Ndlovu move
By
Staff Reporter Speculation has been rife after the 31-year-old's brother Adam, who plays for South African premiership club Black Leopards, reportedly told a South African newspaper the striker was about to move to the Britannia Stadium. However, the Potters claim the story is untrue. A club spokesman said: "It's very unlikely anything would have been agreed. The team is away in Austria for the week and as far as I know there is no truth in it." Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock also denied any knowledge of the transfer, saying: "No-one has spoken to me about it, and as far as I'm aware he's going to return from Zimbabwe this week and will begin training with us again." The former Birmingham and Coventry forward was ransfer-listed by the Bramall Lane club at the end of last season and has been linked with a move back to Zimbabwe, but his brother has claimed Ndlovu is actually in talks with the Staffordshire club. "Peter is in
London as we speak. If he was in the country, I would have been the
first to know. I am the first person he contacts whenever he gets here,"
Adam told the City Press newspaper. |
