ZIMBABWE international skipper Peter Ndlovu will take a huge pay cut to revive his career with Stoke City after having his contract terminated by English First Division club Sheffield United early this week.

The 31-year-old striker's move to City was denied late last week after his brother Adam who plays in South Africa told South African newspapers about Peter's intended move.

"Peter has been made an offer and gone away to think about it," said manager Stoke City Tony Pulis.

New Zimbabwe.com understands Ndlovu will be forced to take a huge paycut if he is to remain in the English First Division.

He has already rejected offers from China and two South African clubs - Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs. His manager Winston Makamure has been leading the fight to keep him in one of the top English leagues after he was shown the exit door by championship aspirants Sheffield United.

If the deal is finalised by Friday, Ndlovu could be on the field when Stoke City face West Bromwich Albion in a friendly match on Saturday.
