A NEW music and entertainment show for Zimbabweans and South Africans has launched on UK digital TV's Original Black Entertainment (OBE).

Sanatta Media & Entertainment, a UK-based Zimbabwean production company launched the new show -- Mzansi Jams -- on Sunday night.

OBE TV -- owned by Ghanaian businessmen -- caters for the growing African population in the UK.

"We are proud to be expanding the medium for Southern African entertainment in the diaspora," said a spokesman for Sanatta Media. "This has been a long time coming as we have watched other Africans develop their entertainment industries."

Sanatta has recruited presenters Katlego Rakuba and S'khululiwe Ngwenya. The three-hour weekly show also an entertainment news anchor -- DJ Waxy from mix masters, Joburg Project.

The show aims to "quench the thirst for the latest House, Kwaito, Gospel and popular music of Southern African origin", said a Sanatta spokesman.

He added: "It will also serve as a platform to launch UK-based artists. This is surely a milestone for the industry which every Southern African can be proud of."

Mzansi Jams is broadcast from 6PM on OBE TV, Sky digital channel 159 every Sunday
