The
woman who stole Lupepe's heart By Nkanyiso
Moyo The two lovebirds tied the knot at a lavish reception in Zimbabwe’s second largest city of Bulawayo on Sunday. The wedding was attended by Vice President Joseph Msika.
It’s Zimbabwe’s equivalent of a Roman Abramovich wedding. Lupepe is one of Zimbabwe’s richest men. He gave up his football club AmaZulu, after football authorities insisted on his team playing on Saturdays, contrary to his religious beliefs. The solemnising ceremony was held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bulawayo’s upmarket surburb of Selbourne Park. Mabaleka, a medical doctor based at Mpilo Central Hospital, has no children, while Lupepe has five with three different women. Lupepe is thought to be 47-years-old. He is the son of former National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) public relations manager, Grace Lupepe. His business portfolio gives an insight into his staggering wealth. He owns Merspin, the country’s biggest towel manufacturer which exports 80 percent of its products. He also owns Water
Supplies, and through that company, he has come up with an ambitious
project to boost parched Bulawayo’s water reserves which could
cost up to millions of United States dollars.
Lupepe is known to be a car enthusiast, with his own cart club. His cars include a £35 000 Toyota Landcruiser and a Mercedes. He runs his companies from Sagit House, a high-rise office building in central Bulawayo. Lupepe has had several liaisons with a string of women. He had rows with two former AmaZulu coaches after “signing” their women. He was also linked to the wife of Mkhupali Masuku, a former AmaZulu player now at Highlanders. |
