'Zim man stabbed girlfriend 50 times in Luton' By Staff
Reporter The case has been referred to the Crown Court for trial, according to the Bedfordshire on Sunday newspaper. Mashozhera, 24, of no fixed address, appeared at a Bedford Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday morning charged with the murder of his former girlfriend. "Because of its seriousness (the case), chairman of the magistrates, Lynda McLean, sent the case straight to Luton Crown Court," the paper said. Mundicha, who was employed as a carer for the elderly people at Bedford Hospital, Kimbolton Road in Bedford, was found in a pool of blood on her bed. Neighbours alerted the police after hearing screams, but by the time the officers arrived, they found Esnath had been stabbed over 50 times in the head, throat and torso with a 15cm kitchen knife. It is reported the two broke up sometime in 2001 after Mashozhera had fallen in love with another woman. However, it is alleged that Mashozhera saw Mundicha walking along in the company of another man. He became violent and smashed the windscreen of the man’s car. A report was made to the police and he was arrested. But Mundicha decided to pay bail for him and withdrew the charges, leading to Mashozhera’s release. On the fateful day, Mashozhera went to Mundicha’s flat where she lived alone and broke down the door to gain entry and started assaulting the woman. Mashozhera is alleged to have taken a knife and stabbed her several times all over the body. Realising she was dead, Mashozhera bolted out of the flat. A neighbour, who had earlier heard loud noises from Mundicha’s flat saw Mashozhera running away and later saw Mundicha, who was wearing her nightie, lying dead in her bed. A report was made
to the police leading to the arrest of Mashozhera who had gone to the
railway station in an attempt to commit suicide by throwing himself
in front of a moving train. |
