A ZIMBABWEAN man was seized by British cops early Wednesday morning in Luton, England, on allegations of raping his two-year-old daughter, New Zimbabwe.com can exclusively reveal.

The man whose identity cannot be revealed for legal reasons was due before a Luton magistrate on Friday for an initial remand.

The man who lives on Cromwell Road in Luton was granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK early this year lives with his wife and two daughters who are now at the centre of a major investigation by Bedfordshire police.

A neighbour told New Zimbabwe.com: "The wife came from a night shift (job) and was bathing the girls when the younger one complained after she touched her vaginal area. She asked why and the girl said 'Daddy put his thing there'. The girl further said that 'Daddy buys cakes for us'."

The wife's piercing cries are said to have awoken the neighbours as she demanded to know from the husband what had happened.

"When she couldn't get a coherent answer from the husband she called in the cops and several police officers came to pick him up," the neighbour said.

A police spokesman said the two kids were receiving specialist care and tests were being carried on them to prove abuse. Child care social workers were also wrapped-in as the investigation widened.
