Zimbabwean drug dealer faces deportation from UK By
Staff Reporter Whisky Nyalenda, 21, admitted possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply before a judge at the Kingston Crown Court on November 19.
Nyalenda was nabbed on November 16 by plain-clothed police officers on patrol in the Kingston Hill area after they smelt cannabis coming from a red Fiat Brava car parked outside Cumberland House. A search of the car yielded a large amount of cash, and Nyalenda was found with cannabis and a wrap of cocaine on him. Both the flatmate and the other occupant of the car were charged with drug possession offences. Sentencing Nyalenda, Judge Binning recommended he be deported back to Zimbabwe at the end of his sentence. Sergeant Jim Northway from Kingston police said: "This man has paid a high price for involvement in drug supply offences. This should stand as a stark message of warning to those involved in drugs that it is never worth it because Kingston police will continue to actively target drug dealers.” Britain can now deport Zimbabweans after a ruling of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (AIT) on Friday last week that deportees face no automatic risk of persecution by authorities. Meanwhile, Arnold
Nhliziyo, a convicted Zimbabwean sex offender from Surbiton is still
awaiting deportation in Wandsworth Prison after being served with deportation
papers in September. |
