Zimbabwe lift Cosafa Cup

ZIMBABWEAN international goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro is on the verge of signing for English First Division Club Crystal Palace, his agent said.

The 22-year-old, who has more than 40 caps for his country, is available on a free transfer having left Israeli club, Hapoel Bnei Sakhnin last November.

“They are favourites to land him,” Barry Thomas, the player’s agent, said of Palace.

The promising stopper, 22, has impressed Eagles boss Iain Dowie during a trial.

Murambadoro had left Zimbabwe for trials at Leeds, but appears to have had a change of heart.

Thomas said: “Palace are favourites to land him. He is keen and so are they.”
