Mwaruwari to finance Warriors camp in France
By
Sports Editor As part of Mwaruwari's offer, the national association will foot the bill for the air fares with the hitman picking the rest of the costs. The Africa Nations Cup finals will be hosted by Egypt. "This offer is subject to Zifa writing back and confirming that they approve," the striker told South African football magazine, Kick Off. Zifa officials were not immediately available to comment, but it is unlikely they will turn down the offer which has the echoes of Samuel Eto's offer to pay the Cameroonian players US$2000 each if they beat Ivory Coast two weeks ago. Said Mwaruwari: "Zifa has to foot the air fares to get the team in France and then from there I will take care of everything from accommodation, meals and training facilities and arranging friendly games with credible opposition. "We will get free stadiums here and play before a paying public which will see the team generate some money that will go a long way in motivating the team ahead of the Nations Cup." Mwaruwari hopes
the Warriors will get a chance to play other African teams like Senegal,
Mali, Ivory Coast and Guinea which have French links and are likely
to be camped there around the same time. |
