Soul Brothers touch down for UK tour
By
Showbiz Reporter In the UK, Zhakata finds himself in familiar surroundings, having toured Britain on at least 15 occasions since he burst to prominence in 1992. "There are thousands of Zimbabweans in the UK now, unlike the first time I came here," Zhakata told New Zimbabwe.com from a London hotel. "The bonus for my fans is that I now have more albums than I had in 1992 and they should prepare for a good show." The Soul Brothers' David Masondo said they would stage their first UK performance of songs from their brand new album Gobondela. "We had a hugely successful show in Bulawayo two weeks ago. The people showed us some love and we played till the morning. We expect to do the same for our UK fans," he said on arrival at Heathrow Airport. Also Thursday, the Soul Brothers visited the studios of Zimbabwe's internet radio station Afro Sounds FM following in the footsteps of Mzekezeke, Trompies and top South African DJs Rudeboy Paul, DJ Cleo and Glen Lewis who have all done interviews on the recently launched station.
