Zimbabwe Achievers Awards 2014 South Africa ... ZAA founder Conrad Mwanza

THE inaugural MoneyGram Zimbabwe Achievers Awards 2014 South Africa is calling for the public to participate in the Nominating process for one of the 15 Prestigious Categories.

The MoneyGram Zimbabwe Achievers Awards, true to its theme of ONE AFRICA, ONE PEOPLE, invites all Africans  to nominate people that they feel have contributed towards shaping this Rainbow Nation that is home to just over two million Zimbabweans.

Said Richard Moyo, the CEO of ZAA South Africa: "While the majority of winners will be Zimbabweans, we encourage our African brothers and sisters to join Zimbabweans to pick the best names for what will be a night of glitz, glamour and a showcase  of Zimbabwe's best and brightest on the red carpet.”

Moyo said sport, a favourite for many, was expected to be one of the tightly contested categories.

“From rugby to football, there are many wonderfully gifted Zimbabweans who entertain and inspire on and off the field every weekend. The relationship between South Africa and Zimbabwe is an ultimate example of the spirit of Ubuntu,” he said.

“The neighbouring countries share more than a border. They are the perfect neighbours that have a deep rich history dating back to pre-independence. It is against this background that the ‘Friends Of Zimbabwe’ category captures this wonderful relationship.

“This inaugural event will celebrate the contribution and achievements of Zimbabweans in South Africa across 15 categories ranging from business to music and sport.”

To nominate, the public can log onto www.zimachievers.co.za . Alternatively, nominations can also be made via the short message service - SMS NOMINATE followed by a space and the name of the person you are nominating to 33000. sms costs R1.50 and nominations close on 17th August 2014.
