Highlight of the night ... Oliver Mtukudzi

THE inaugural MoneyGram Zimbabwe Achievers Awards South Africa (ZAA SA) will be held this Saturday with a performance by legend Oliver Mtukudzi among the highlights of the event.

ZAA SA chief executive Richard Moyo said the awards will be held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand in Johannesburg.

Guests will arrive to a champagne reception and settle down to a scrumptious three-course meal prepared by head chef Gordon Fraser. A red carpet photo opportunity to capture glamorous moments will also be available.

“In keeping with ZAA tradition of providing a premium quality awards show, we are setting the bar high with the South Africa edition,” said Moyo.

“We believe the achievements of our community deserve to be celebrated in only the best way possible, thus we will do exactly that.”

He added: “We have put together an exceptional combination of artists to perform at the gala dinner including comedian John Vlismas, female hiphop artist Nadia Nakai, gospel performer Mkhululi Bhebhe who are nominated on various categories on the night.

“Also set to perform is Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP) and a grand performance by Legend Oliver Mtukudzi.”

The tickets are available at various Computicket outlets, including Shoprite Checkers, House & Home, as well as www.computicket.com at R750 for a gold ticket and R1 000 for a platinum ticket.

“There will be an after party at a venue yet to be disclosed therefore guests can look forward to partying in style until the wee hours of morning,” said Moyo.

The inaugural Zimbabwe Achievers Awards kicked off in 2011 in the UK at the state of the art Mermaid Theatre in Blackfriars.

Since then, the red carpet event has enjoyed phenomenal growth as a gala dinner at some of London’s leading hotels.
