THE MDC-T UK recently held its Christmas party to raise funds for the opposition movement’s campaigns back home in Zimbabwe.

The event, attended by party structures in the UK and Ireland, was held in Birmingham and hosted by MDC-T structures there.

Officials said they were helping raise funds for party programmes in Zimbabwe as well as to support activists detained by the Harare administration.

Opposition parties are pressing the government to implement reforms to ensure free and fair elections ahead of the 2018 ballot.

The Zanu PF government insists no reforms are necessary but the MDC-T and other parties say they are confident the administration will give in.
