LONDON: The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards Nominee announcement is imminent and this year’s cream of the crop will, this week, learn whether or not they have made the final list for the prestigious awards.

The award nominations will be announced on Friday, 18th March, during at Amba Hotel Marble Arch, London. The launch will be streamed live via zimachievers.com.

"As has been the experience from year to year, we keep getting greater numbers of nominees,” ZAA Executive Director, Brian Nyabunze said.

“We have so many brilliant Zimbabweans shining through every year. Individuals who keep pushing boundaries in various sectors; Business Innovators and Community Champions of so many initiatives that have put them on the map and we are really pleased with the response we received for this year’s awards.

“We will reveal the exact number of nominations we received when we announce the shortlist on Friday.”

Nyabunze added that voting on the shortlisted candidates will commence a week after the announcement on 25th March and will close at the end of April.

This year’s ceremony will take place on Saturday 7th May at the London’s Royal Garden Hotel. The luxurious five-star venue is situated in the scenic and affluent district of Kensington and has become home to the much anticipated ceremony for the last three years.

The ticket discount has been extended to the 27th of March in response to popular appeals by the public, with tickets going for £65.95. Sales will close at midnight on 27th March and ticket prices will revert back to the standard price of £89.95.

Organisers have again decided to stick with the ticketing system introduced in 2014 that allows prospective guests to choose their seats upon purchasing their tickets. Tickets are being sold exclusively on zimachievers.com.

Now a prominent red carpet fixture on the Zim community calendar, the ZAA annual gala dinner has become the society event of the year and the pinnacle of recognition for the achievements of people of Zimbabwean heritage in the UK.
