ZIMBABWEAN Big Brother Africa star Munyaradzi Chidzonga is back on television – one of 14 ex-housemates from the previous four editions vying for the US$200,000 top prize in the Big Brother All Stars.
South African producers of the show say the ‘all star’ line up is made up of former Big Brother housemates who are “unforgettable, outspoken and entertaining”.
Munya, as fans remember him from his time in the house in 2008, came third in the third season which was eventually won by Angolan Ricco Venancio.
The 24-year-old upset conservative watchers of the show after enjoying a sex romp with Botswana’s Tawanda in front of M-Net’s cameras.
The Big Brother All Stars contest will stretch for 91 days at a secluded house located in the Randburg neighbourhood of Johannesburg, and watched by millions on DStv channel 198.
Joining Munya in the house are Code from Malawi; Uti from Nigeria, Hannington (Uganda); Jennifer (Mozambique); Kaone (Botswana); Lerato(South Africa); Meryl (Namibia); Mwisho (Tanzania); Paloma (Zambia); Sammi B (Ghana); Sheila (Kenya); Tatiana (Angola); and Yacob from Ethiopia.
Biola Alabi, M-Net Africa Managing Director, said: “We want to celebrate previous editions of Big Brother in all their glory. What better way than to bring back some of the fans’ favourite characters for a second chance at the big prize?”
Alabi says she expects the housemates to be more strategic after the experience gained during their time on the show.
“With all the housemates having played the game previously, they each will come into the new season equipped with more insight and knowledge into the world of alliances, conspiracy and tactics,” she said.
